WP2 R&D Mobility Fund | AGIFORS Conference Mexico
Last summer, BrightSky had the honor of attending the AGIFORS conference in Mexico, one of the most prestigious events in Operations Research, dedicated to aviation maintenance applications. The conference was well-attended by major airlines, providing an excellent opportunity for BrightSky to showcase its work under the Smart Availability work package.
At the conference, Paul van Kessel and Daan Westerveld presented the Strategic Maintenance Policy Simulator (SMPS) and Maintenance Team Scheduling (LiMiTS) tools. These two products are part of the three Minimal Viable Products developed under work package 2.2.
The Strategic Maintenance Policy Simulator (SMPS) is a tool that evaluates maintenance scenarios. It enables users to analyze which maintenance schedules provide optimal availability, such as long or short checks, hangar or line maintenance, etc.
Maintenance Team Scheduling (LiMiTS) is a planning tool that helps with scheduling daily tasks in line maintenance. It takes into account factors such as personnel availability and the complexity of maintenance tasks, to help maintenance teams work more efficiently and reduce operational costs.
The presentations were well-received and highlighted the innovative ambitions of “Smart Availability.” BrightSky remains committed to developing new and innovative solutions for the aviation industry, and we are proud to have shared our results with an international audience.
