Work Package 2 | Digital Passport
The purpose of work package 2 is three-fold:
Gain cross-organisational insight into aircraft component data with the creation of a Digital Product Passport (DPP)
Expand traceability of components with unique tags connecting the physical component and/or its packaging to its data
Seamlessly disseminate automated information on components in a collaborative network with the set-up of a secure, open-standard information infrastructure: a dataspace
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) for rotable and/or repairable aircraft components provides insight in the configuration, history, identity and status regarding serviceability and airworthiness. Through a tag, for example, a label or chip placed on the component itself, it is linked to its data in a company’s system. This way, components are automatically identifiable and traceable from cradle to grave on their journey throughout the entire MRO chain. This connection allows users such as technicians, operators, suppliers, OEMs, planners and logistics organisations to digitally identify, validate and trace components in order to optimise their usage. Conditions can be verified and recorded, which can prevent issues such as waste and fraud. For the reliability of the information, geographic data sovereignty, chain-wide data uniformity, data control, verification and validation of the process and transparency are of utmost importance.
